Jan
Hello, my name's Jan, and I've been asked to do a short video to talk about my Lucinda Ellery hair system.
About 6 years ago I suffered from hair loss due to an under-active thyroid, so my scalp, you could see through my scalp if the sun was shining, and it was really difficult. My hair was short and layered to try and disguise the problem. I've neve been able to grow long hair - all my life, even as a child, I had fine hair. It used to be what my mum lovingly called "rat's tails". So I always kept my hair short and so on.
Anyway when it went thin as well that was the last straw. So I went down with my husband for a consultation, down to London, which was the best thing I've ever done. And everyone was helpful and kind and reassuring, and yes, we decided that yes we were going to go ahead with this. I had a Minima system which actually was more just the centre part, and that was great - made a huge difference. But it took a little while to get used to, and it has to be tweaked and you suddenly go from having very little hair and very thin hair and very poor hair, to lots of it. And you're not sure how to deal with it, does it need thinning out, what do I do with all this? So it takes time, and that's something I really stress - that don't be put off if you decide to have a system, that it takes a bit of time to settle into it and know how to handle it. But there's always plenty of advice.
People comment on my hair all the time, and it's quite funny after all this time, it's my fourth system, and the best 'cause it's the longest, I'm now 60 and this is the best hair I've ever had - I wish I'd had it at 30. But so many people say "what lovely hair", and I have to smile and quite often will say "thank you but it's not entirely my own". And people can never tell and that's the whole point - you want a natural result. It's great, it's easy to look after. I find I try not to over-process it so wash the main thing probably once a week, but I tie it up into a knot, put a shower cap on and wash my own hair, so that I don't have to over-process it.
But it is the best thing I ever did, so if you're thinking about it, or struggling, or you'd just like to know more about it - don't hesitate. Go along, find out all about it, and there's plenty of advice available, so... it's just the best thing ever - know I have the hair I wish I'd had at 30, so it's never too late.
So I don't have a bad hair day anymore, no matter what else may be going on - weight, weather, whatever; I can have good hair. So you have good hair too - don't hesitate, go and have a consultation, you'll be glad you did. So that's all from me - Good Luck!
