During pregnancy, you can experience a whole host of symptoms ranging from water retention to mood swings to hair loss. All of these symptoms are perfectly normal whilst you are pregnant and they are often as a result of the change in hormones that is occurring in your body.

When you are having a baby, it is a really stressful time for your body. There is a lot going on inside and your body is having to work overtime to ensure that you are able to cope with your day to day activities as well as ensuring that the baby that you are carrying is safe and healthy.

Once you have given birth, there is another change in hormones in your body and this is another time when you are more likely to experience some form of hair loss. Your hair is extremely reactive to the hormones in your body and this is why you experience hair loss. However for most women the hair loss that they suffer after giving birth is only temporary and it is not something that you need to worry yourself about. You will need to concentrate your efforts on looking after your new baby and ensuring that you provide everything that your baby needs.

In the simplest term, telogen effluvium is when you experience more hair loss than normal. We each shed a certain amount of hair on a daily basis whilst we are sleeping, when we are styling our hair and when we are in the shower, however this should only be a small amount.

Telogen effluvium is a form on alopecia and it is characterised by hair shedding. At first you may notice that your hair is looking considerably thinner than normal and that you are noticing more hair at the bottom of the shower or on your pillow at night.

This particular type of hair loss occurs when an individual experiences sudden or severe stress. The stress results in the hair follicles stopping any hair growth and in turn you experience thinning of the hair. The hair follicles are no longer producing hair because they are in their resting phase.

Thankfully telogen effluvium is a temporary form of hair loss and through ensuring that you have received the right treatment from your doctor, you should find that your hair returns. Unfortunately more women tend to experience telogen effluvium because they tend to go through more stressful and emotional traumas than men such as giving birth.

If you have taken your hair for granted like most women do, it can be really hard to come to terms with the fact that you are losing some or all of your hair. Although female hair loss is a difficult thing to come to terms with, it may have been the direct result of something else that you are suffering with.

In most instances of people with cancer who receive treatment, a large majority lose some or all of their hair. This is because the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment affects the hair follicles on your body and they become dormant. This means that they no long produce hair and you develop patches of baldness or thinning of the hair. Not every woman who receives this type of cancer treatment loses her hair but it is a common side effect.

In order to combat the fact that you are losing some of your hair, you might want to cover up your hair wearing a hat, a scarf or even a human hair wig. Nobody needs to know that you have lost some of your hair during your chemotherapy treatment if you don’t want them to know. A human hair wig will easily cover up any hair loss that you are suffering with.

When a woman experiences hair loss, she thinks that she is the only woman to have lost some or all of her hair. Although it might be common to see a man without his hair, it is very rare to see a woman with no hair herself.

Hair loss amongst women is actually very common and you might be surprised at how many women suffer from hair loss during their lifetime. You may have seen in the media, that there are celebrity women such as Bernie Nolan and Angelina Jolie who have experienced female hair loss for a variety of reasons ranging from cancer treatment to stress and hair conditions such as alopecia.

Whatever type of hair loss that you are suffering with, you need to speak with your doctor to ensure that you are receiving the right treatment for it. Most of the common hair loss conditions are treatable, although this may take some time and there will be other things that you will need to change in order to reduce the amount of stress that is in your life as this could be contributing to your hair loss. Any woman would do anything to ensure that her hair returned as normal.

When you have a busy and hectic lifestyle you may not be getting enough sleep or you might have a lot of things on your mind, which are causing you to be stressed and worried. A lot of women push themselves because they are trying to juggle a career, their home life and have time for themselves and as a consequence this puts an enormous amount of pressure on their body. They may feel extremely tired and they might notice that they have lost a bit of weight or they are putting weight on because they haven’t had the time to do any exercise. What they may have also noticed is that they are experiencing some kind of hair loss.

Stress related hair loss amongst women is extremely common. We are all doing far more than we ever used to and as a result, our bodies are trying to find ways in which to let us know that we are struggling and we need to slow down a little. Although the hair loss might not be particularly noticeable at first, it could develop into a serious female hair loss condition. You need to take stock of what is going on around you and what you are going through to ensure that you are not putting yourself through too much which could result in further hair loss.

When you think that things can’t get any worse, you start to lose your hair. As well as struggling to cope with the emotional stress and worry that you are currently going through, you have also started to notice that you are losing your hair and it has affecting your confidence and you are becoming really self conscious about whether or not your hair loss is noticeable.

In most instances of female hair loss, it isn’t noticeable until there are significant amounts of hair loss. Thinning of the hair can be easily covered up by making sure you blow dry your hair in a certain way or make the most of shampoos and conditioners that make your hair appear fuller and thicker.

Should you be experiencing large amounts of hair loss in patches on your scalp, you may want to consider wearing a wig. Wigs are available which have been made from human hair so they look really authentic. You would be surprised at how many women wear a wig but you haven’t noticed because they look so good. You can style a human hair wig just as you would style your own hair and it can even be cut by your hairdresser into a style that suits you.
