Hair loss is a symptom of the menopause

Most doctors believe that the reason why women experience hair loss during the menopause because of the hormone change that is occurring. During the menopause there are more hormones rushing around your body and this can sometimes cause your hair follicles to stop producing hair and to cause you to experience patches of hair loss or thinning of the hair.

You may find that is embarrassing to talk about the hair loss that you are experiencing, but you will need to speak to your doctor to find one if there are any other reasons why you might be suffering hair loss at this time.

Hair loss during the menopause is common and you shouldn’t feel like you are on your own whilst you are going through this. In most instances of hair loss during the menopause, the hair returns to normal in time.
